Collagen Induction Therapy-A Safe, Cost-Effective Treatment for Stretch Marks, Acne Scars, & Wrinkles.

What is Collagen Induction Therapy & How Does it Work?

CIT is a simple, safe procedure that requires minimal downtime with significant, measurable, and sustainable results. The principal of CIT is to stimulate the body’s own production of collagen, thereby reducing wrinkles and improving skin texture. With the use of a microneedling device such as the Dermapen ™, fine needles pierce the skin at a rapid rate to create many microscopic channels deep into the dermis of the skin. This will initiate a natural healing process which will stimulate your body to produce new collagen. These channels also improve the penetration of topical antioxidants about 1000 times. Topical antioxidants stimulate skin renewal, thereby making the skin appear younger. Results can be similar to those of fractional laser treatments without the risks, downtime or costs associated with laser treatments.

How Many Treatments are Needed?

This will depend on the original condition of the skin and individual patient needs but, the average number of treatments usually range from 4-8. Sessions are spaced approximately 4 weeks apart.

What Changes can be expected with CIT?

CIT will make the skin appear smoother and more youthful. CIT can also create significant improvement with stretch marks and acne scars. There will also be an improvement in hyperpigmentation, brown spots, sun damage, facial wrinkles and skin texture.

How soon can you see improvement with CIT?

Because it takes your body awhile to stimulate collagen, CIT remodeling in normal skin takes approximately 90 days to see optimal results, so the effects of this treatment won’t be fully appreciated for several months after the procedure but the collagen stimulation will continue and the effects can last for up to 5 years in most people.
